Cleaning

Cleaning

Deck cleaning is the essential first step in deck preservation and restoration. We strongly recommend our deck cleaning services to thoroughly clean and properly prepare your deck prior to every application of wood stain. Our specialty outdoor wood and deck cleaners remove contaminants such as mold, algae, dirt and oxidation, to help achieve maximum performance of wood staining products.

Stripping

Stripping

Stripping agents are much more potent with loosening contaminants prior to power washing, and therefore must be handled with great care. In addition to removing mold, algae, dirt and oxidation, stripping eliminates any remnants of prior deck stains. We highly recommend our deck stripping services if a significant amount of previous deck stain is remaining after cleaning.

Brightening

Brightening

Cleaning and stripping products are caustic and raise the pH level of the wood, consequently making it appear darker in color. A deck brightener should always be used to neutralize the wood following cleaning and stripping applications. Our brightening treatments result in better stain penetration and restore the wood to its natural, lighter color.

Sanding

Sanding

When dealing with more deep-seated stains, we use sanding to eliminate any remaining stain that power washing was unable to clear away. The extent and intensity of sanding will vary based on how much stain is left on the deck and its level of stubbornness. We also use sanding to remove any raised hairs on wood, which cause splinters especially on railings, as well as to remove any surface level discoloration.

Staining

Staining

Constantly exposed to contaminants such as dirt, mold, mildew, algae, and ultraviolet rays, decks require protection from the elements. Our staining services are a great way to add longevity to your deck while enhancing its look. To protect your new deck, we recommend having it stained after a short weathering period, while an older deck should be stained only after proper cleaning, stripping and thorough drying.

Board Replacement

Board Replacement

Are some areas of your deck deeply discolored, bowing or cracking, while the rest of it is still in good shape? You can save hundreds of dollars in materials and labour by having us selectively splice in boards instead of replacing the entire deck. Let us carefully evaluate your deck to help you make an informed decision whether to scrap it or fix it.
